Tim (Gjon or Scott), Are there any plans to provide Max plugins for 2011 and 2012 versions? Sometimes is kinda complicated to have to fall back to 2010!
I would like that also. I have tried with 2010 sp1 The converter is there in my utilities panel but no gMat. I copied the plugins and coreshaders to the plugins and hardwareshaders folders but I cant see a gMotorMaterial in my material editors browser.
On Max 2012 64bits it doesn't. Is the one I got here! I'll try to install 32 bits version and see what happens, as long as it seems not to work on any 64 bits.
Yes, in another post Luc said possibly in the next build there might be plugins for 2011 and 2012. All of the plugins only work with 32 bit as of right now.
Auto desk rebuilt the graphics engine that 2012 uses that's why the 2011 stuff doesn't work in 2012. But unfortunate but if u have both version it's not hard to send it to 2011
They will definitely not work on a 64bit version as they use part of the 32bit rF2 engine. The year shouldn't make a difference as long the plugin compatibility remains within Max.
I am now modeling in 3dsMax 2012 64bit, when I am ready to export, I save the file for 2011 version, and open it in 32bit and export. When I have got the time I will try this with just 2012, work in 64bit, then open in 2012 32bit and export. Is that likely to work? are the rfactor plugins compatible with 2012 32bit? (i'm sure I tried that)
i am trying to get my MAX 2011 32bit running and set up for RF2. I put all three plugin files and the mas file to the correct folders. However, MAX 2011 says the gMotorMatrerial is incompatible and brakes down when i try to use it. Does someone know what i'm doing wrong?
What was the name of the folder where you grabbed the plugins from? As of right now I dont think there are plugins for 2011 or 2012.
yup the plugins seem to work correct for 2011. i took the coreshaders.mas out of documents/rfactor2/ModDev/shared . i now changed my render presets to scanline. now the gmotor shows as compatible. however, max still brakes down if i try to use the gMotorMat. the MAX installation is fresh, so i hope the problem is not on the MAX side. any ideas what i can do?
I used the coreshaders from rFactor2/Core/Shared. Although I would think that both are the same, but perhaps not. Worth a try.
sadly it didn't help...thanks tho i think i'm gonna install the 2010 max version, just to see if the problem is up to my max installation or some problem of my system...will report on that one later
