On a couple of the Mills layouts, like Outer Loop C, there is a spot where a bird will swoop down across the track really low. In an open cockpit I cannot help but have my eyes drawn to it as it flies towards me. No matter how many times I see it, my brain instantly clicks "Massa's head injury!!! Is that a spring coming towards me?!?!?!" and I flinch. I'm not sure if this is a testament to the immersion intensity of rF2, or just the power of modern F1 television coverage.
I`ve noticed the bird too but never had it swoop towards me as far as I can remember... well, not yet anyway. I`ll keep an eye out for it.
Yeah, birds move constantly up or down with smoothly changing velocity of fall or rise, their trajectories are kind of parabolic, some can glide without loosing much of velocity, but to achieve speeds that bird are doing they would need to fall quite fastly as relatively level flight of them is not very fast. Especially with those small ones it can be easily observed by visiting outside or looking out from the window, which reveals us how deeply ISI staff is in their work as missing such details
The last two tracks I was thinking about those kinds of animations as I did the tracks. So I made sure to take photos of each plane I saw, bird, etc. Even saw a snake on Saturday. The guys like to put in little easter eggs I think.
It is surely quite low resolution, but maybe better that as it probably has zero effect to performance All of such little things surely add niceness level to tracks. Snake, huh? Hopefully Tim didn't step over one, like I did year ago on my lawn, suddenly heard odd hissing sound, could not see anything, until looked down, quite large poisonous snake was hissing at me as I had stepped quite well middle of it, slowly I moved backwards and it did not bite me, but one need always to be bit careful with those, hard to spot them. Two years ago I got pic from little one, same kind of poisonous snake:
Absolutely... no need for these things to be extra high res I suppose. I was just having a bit of fun. Sounds like you had quite a lucky escape with the snake jtbo...
When I read the title I was guessing if you were lapping 1 second slower than your teammate at Mills.
We get adders where I live, only poisonous snake in England or the only deadly one...either way seen loads of them!
You get snakes (mostly harmless - Elite reference!) here in Illinois. More wary of the spiders really.
Mmm... most cats I`ve ever had would scoff rats too lol... Mind you... that would be 90 odd% mice and a few birds but yeh, the odd rat too.
