Been doing some laps at Silverstone in the Marussia and on a green track I put in fairly decent 1min 41.5 second lap. Looking at last year's qualifying, the fastest lap from Marussia was 1min 51.6s! What's causing the virtual version to be so fast (aside from my incredible driving skills)?

I know that people have got around 1.36 times in Silverstone with Marussia in rf2.

I guess it was wet track and/or the layout was different.

    D'OH!

Of course, qualifying was wet, the race was dry. Fastest race laps were 1min 37s and 1min 38s.

I'll crawl back under my rock...

In a way, this confirms what's always the case for me -- I'm always 4s off the fastest laps!!!

Because of the heavy rain, so you're something around 7 seconds slower on dry conditions. :)

Okay, why is the Marussia so slow in rF2 compared to real life :D

In 2012 FP3 (first dry session of the weekend) Timo Glock was the fastest Marrusia driver with a time of 1:36.605, during the race he was again the fastest of the two drivers with a best of 1:37.422

I'm invested some time these days in the Marussia at Silverstone. Really tricky to drive this little beast. I'm really happy if i manage to drive 10 laps without any mayor error. Did some adjustment with diverential settings to improve handling on corner exit with somewhat success.
My best practice lap so far: 1:38.5, with around 90l fuel, new soft tires, no DRS, medium rubbered track. So still some work left to beat Timo. :)

That seems close to rF2 then... my best as of now is 01:37.956, and I can do a bit better with the same setup... still need to tweak a bit to get into 1:36... but I'm sure I'll make it..

Wow -- that's a great time without DRS and that fuel.

Your post made me a little sceptical about my "1:38.5". I'm not one of those "alien" drivers, so i checked the replay from today morning and found only a 1:39.0.
This 1:38.5 within my memory was a older one, maybe with less fuel or with DRS. Don't want to tell something wrong, so sorry for the confusion. :)
