After installing the new update i started the game and noticed that i was missing 2 tracks for the ISR servers... downloaded both tracks and wanted to install them, and then this happened... took both of them out of the package folder and i still can't manage my mods
thats exactly what i did when i saw this on the forum... i'm lost, maybe i will try to install the game on another partition, thx for the help nikos
Have he same problem . Manager was working fine then I changed one for the option in the menu ( don't know which one ) and now can't get it to start . Can't find a way to fix it .
Axeslayer i think i found the problem, i'm working on it... but for now try to install 198 again and go from there, i'll let you know if it worked
If you're comfortable with editing the registry, you can try deleting the entire reg key: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Image Space Incorporated\rFactor2 Mod Manager" then restart the mod mgr.
If you wanted the mod manager EXE from B198 you could've asked, it's only a small file. On a more serious note I've been playing around checking and unchecking options but I can't get MM to misbehave, hope you're on the right track.
Make sure when deleting, you do delete the Documents/rFactor2/installed dir. Joe is on this now though also...
Tim with all due respect i beg you not to write stuff like this, it's just crazy that smiley is not the way i'm feeling right now but hey, i hope i can get this fixed, i have tried everything... installed 198 and tried to update it, but it can't be done right? after i click download the hole thing crashes after a while
funny thing just happened Joe, deleting the registry for the third time and this time it worked, i guess three times a charm !!!!!!!
and once again the same thing happened after i installed all the mods and tracks... started singleplayer, chose a car/track and after that i started the mod manager and guess what? ATTEMPTED AN UNSUPPORTED OPERATION !!! @ Joe Campana, will i be able to delete the Mod manager and still have all my mods/tracks installed after deleting?
I had the same problem as the thread starter and was also able to fix it by deleting the registry key. I was able to reproduce the problem by going to "View" and deselecting "Show Details". This prompts for a restart and after that the tool won't come back alive. Seems to be a clear bug of some sort.
good to know that i was not the only one with this problem, i was about to go crazy deleting the registry only worked for me the third time, no idea why but i really don't care, it works now
Thanks for the fix , works fine now .Was planing to look in the registry tonight , glad didn't need poke around myself , quick place to screw things up . Same as Stonec said here as well , View - uncheck show details stops it working every time .
Sorry that the inclusion of a smiley face and my communication made that much difference to you. Thank you for the lesson.
