How to install: Unzip the attached file to your rFactor2 Datafolder. View attachment Malaysia_custom_hdr_profile.zip The zip contains two profiles for Malaysia North Loop and GP. There is a profile with bloom enabled and with bloom disabled for both tracks. Launch rF2 and chose the following settings. This step is not needed but it gives you a quick overview how the profile works. You can accelerate the time even more by pressing "CTRL + X" in game. Go to "Race" and click the settings button. Pick the profile in the menu. You have to do this each time you start a race, otherwise the game sets a standard profile (bug?).
It's really good, I've put your files in toban version and looks great. View attachment 5189 View attachment 5190 View attachment 5191
Thanks vicent, i like very much what you are doing with toban (not just a simple conversion) and if it's ready it would be a pleasure for me to build a hdr profile for this track. About the malaysia profile. You can use it at any track, but one of it's features is to reduce the direct sunlight during sunset, sunrise. To make this work i have to reduce the Sun T Lum value to 0.01 when the sun goes below the horizon. This setting is time specific for Malaysia (NLoop and GP have different race dates and as a result different times of sunset-rise) so you will get some strange results in day-night transition. The white point during night is also a little bit extreme. Don't know how it works with your night lightning.
It would be great having you building the hdr profile. i'm finishing some details of the wet reflect and the trees, I'm thinking this week it would be more or less ready for test, if you want I will send it to you and you can start doing it, no rush, take all the time you need. Whenever would be ready, we'll make it public. Thanks.
Nice, i will do a night shift to get it ready b4 xmas. I send a pm with a link to my skydrive where you can drop the file when ready.
I noticed a small bug in the full loop profile with bloom, notice the black box in these two screenshots, there is a red building or vehicle there, and if I choose your profile WITH bloom, I get these black boxes, any other profile, and they're not there. ( Looks great other than this little problem !! ) These are the only two places where I notice this problem... I am using an AMD HD 6950 card if that helps you...
Thanks for the feedback. It seems that the bloom effect has some bugs. I have an Nvidia GTX275 and get some strange white pixels at night. That's the reason why i have made two profiles for each layout.
Thanks! Nice! I have a noob question: this profiles affect the sunset/sunrise time only? they can be set for 10 am or 12 pm also? Thanks again!!!
The times for sunset and sunrise depend on the location and date. These are set in the gdb-file of the track. Here is an example for malaysia. With these values rF2 can calculate the times for sunset and sunrise, the azimuth of the sun, moon phases, etc. If you would like to do some experiments, import a track into dev mode, set latitude to "90", and check out how the track will look like on the north pole. The hdr profile controls the intensity of light (and the gamma, white point, colour, exposure). What i do in my profiles is to reduce the intensity of direct sunlight before sunrise and after sunset to prevent the sun from shining through the ground.
Thanks Tosh! i wonder also where i can set the race date, you answer me. I gonna research those HDR files, thanks again!
Sorry if this question is to noobish. Still trying to wrap my head around how best to use rf1 and 2. Do you still need to use the hdr profiles withe the newest rf2 release?
