Guys, please help me. I am new to rf2, and always installing track/car via packages, but with recent update, it's no longer working. So the question here is, it is any way to installing without through workshop and packages ? Googling this topic, i stumble to some answers said installing can be done using mod manager. Can someone with experience with it help me ?
You'll find mod manager in your "rFactor 2\Bin64" folder. Bottom right, set your working directory (press the B) to your rfactor 2 root folder and your packages directory to "rfactor 2/packages" Your rfcmp files which you download will need to be put in the packages folder to be picked up by the mod manager. In fact your packages folder in the mod manager can be anywhere you store your packages and you can press B and add others.
Hi mitch, after recent rf2 updated ,i cant install manually mod from packages. I don't know if others user experienced the same problem.
Hi sorry for late reply, first of all thanks for the solution and its work. But i have a question about the working dir - should i put it under eg D/Steamlibrary/common/rfactor2/installed/location for track. Because right now, i accidentally installed track under Bin64, but to my surprised it still works on games. Any advice on that.
the working folder should always be the rFactor 2 root folder (D/Steamlibrary/common/rfactor2) now matter if you are installing a car/track etc... The packages folder will be where your packages are kept, which could be in multiple locations. You can take out a folder from the drop down by selecting the folder and pressing X
Yes, i finally understand how its work. Its automatically pick up its own folder. Anyway, really appreciate your help buddy. Its mean a lot to me. Cheers

Does anyone know how to create an rfcmp file from any car or track already in the game ? So the other way around so to speak? If this is possible one could for example archive different versions of stuff (to install back again when you want)
.rfcmp files are in the workshop folders for stuff you get off steam, or in your Packages folder for stuff you downloaded (automatically through the game, or manually).
