Launch without Steam?

    Is it possible to launch without Steam running. Seems like having unnecessary programs running in the background.

    No, i fear you can still not run rF2 without that Steam-Shit.

    Not exactly examined how much bloat it has but you would think Steam could simply verify all is correct, launch what your wanting and then shut it's self down. There's zero need for it to be running.

    It even has the brass neck to close RF2 if you close it after the Sims running.

    With presumably 95%+ of active players running rF2 with steam sitting in the background (and doing very little) I don't think you'd find many gains by turning it off. It's not the steam of 20 years ago.

    if you don't play online the best option is steam emulator

    Steam can play games offline. Why use an emulator ? It looks like some kind of way to get infested ... I wouldn't use any Steam emulator of any kind.

    Because op doesn't want steam to be running on the background, plus it's not a malware. You can check the sourcecode by yourself.
