1) McLarens!
Fantastic!
2) Nürburgring & Nords
Ought to bring in a few people who "ain't gonna try rF2 because..." While I'm one that thinks its overrated, it's good that rF2 will no longer be the odd sim out.
3) The historical Nürburgring Südschleife has also been licensed but Marrs has asked the community whether to go down this route & if so to provide information about the track/layout members may have collected over the years.
Having the Sudschleife would be a differentiating feature compared to the other sims. However, a historical Sudschleife without the historical Nordschleife would be less than awesome. Will the existing sections be scanned? Even an aerial lidar survey would be better than nothing, I think.
2) Down-shift protection is a coming feature
Good. Personally, I'd rather see hybrid capabilities, but realize S397 has to start somewhere on the laundry list of features.
3) Better clouds are in the works (somehow linked to the announcement tomorrow)
Good. I might even go so far as to say I'm excited about it, much to my own chagrin!
4) UI predicted for Christmas 2018 - Q1 2019
Patience, sigh. I suspect features we haven't even dreamed of might be included, so I really hope it's not underwhelming.
5) All future rF2 content will be fully licensed content
Mixed feelings. I think it's the right thing to do because fantasy cars/tracks shouldn't exist in a sim, but I also slightly worry that there will no longer be free content. We all know that most fantasy cars/tracks are nice ways around difficult licenses, so I'll miss the occasional "Lemborgoony" and "Paulina Richards".
6) Tatuus cars development: Graphics/Models around 50% & Physics around 75% progress
OK.
7) In cockpit dash features have been promised to be implemented (to an extent)
I trust these are "things" on real cars that competitors might already have?
****
So items with no news:
1) The future of AI
2) Hybrid powerplants
3) Drivetrain implementation
4) TPA content updates
5) Updating/creating content older than 1973 (well, except for Sudschliefe)
