is there a plan to implement different style qualifying sessions for different series f1 to v8 supercars style qualifying is there any plans to add tyre management and must use soft/hard tyre compounds in race is there any plans to add engine management over a complete championship season thx
m8 i don't wish i suppose you still blow out the candles and make a wish to lol didn't this practice teach you something wishes don't come true it's a question not a wish lol its pretty easy to answer tho ya or na
erm. Whatever. Ask the sky for all I care. It wont bow to your demands either. http://isiforums.net/f/forumdisplay.php/55-Wish-Lists
thx tim but you and the other post have gotten me confused sry Exact types not known/debated enough yet. Yes. is this referring to qualifying No, wear is not carried over race to race. is this referring just to engine management or both tyre/engine management if we can have up to 4 qualifying sessions all we need is all cars on track instead of being split and to be able to set the settings/weather for each of these 4 different qualifying session and then a cut off point for each as it is yeah you can have 4 qualifying session but all 4 are exactly the same in the gbd we need to be able to do something like this bathurst 2012 Practice1Day = Thursday Practice1Start = 10:40 Practice1Duration = 50 Practice2Day = Thursday Practice2Start = 12:55 Practice2Duration = 45 Practice3Day = Thursday Practice3Start = 15:05 Practice3Duration = 50 Practice4Day = Friday Practice4Start = 11:00 Practice4Duration = 50 Qualify1Day = Friday Qualify1Start = 14:45 Qualify1Duration = 40 Practice4Day = Saturday Practice4Start = 10:25 Practice4Duration = 50 Qualify2Day = Saturday Qualify2Start = 16:30 Qualify2Laps = 3 WarmupDay = Sunday WarmupStart = 07:25 WarmupDuration = 20 RaceDay = Sunday RaceStart = 10:30 RaceLaps = 161 it would be nice to be able to set the weather and track condition for each session as the weather records and replays can give pretty exact conditions for that day 40 years ago as it is it's pretty much useless unless its multi class racing thx tim
He asked three questions in order, I gave three responses, in order. Can't expand on them, but appreciate the ideas in your reply.
I'm glad to read you're planning for tyre management - in my opinion, a fundamental element in simulating a race/race weekend. Last time I've ever had to consider tyre usage was back in the GP2 days when there were only 7 sets of tyres available for the weekend. Really made you think long and hard about making setup changes and ensuring you utilised the best of track conditions to maximise your potential. Perfect example of this was the last F1 race in Melbourne (where I got drenched!).
When I think about it, tire decisions for me probably go all the way back to GP2 also. It's AMAZING that part of the pre-race strategy hasn't existed in a sim for that long.
It could be great!, tyre strategy could add a lot to single player and multiplayer. There's some really nice posts and topics in the forum, good to see that
It is isn't it? Even more amazing when you consider the impact that tyre management has in modern-day motorsport, especially with a lot of categories having to use two tyre compounds in the one race etc. Massive oversight from the sim racing community of the last decade (and a half!), glad ISI had the lateral thinking to not only limit themselves to physics, but the racing experience as a whole (RealRoad is the prime example of that in my view).
