Just got a 5.1 speaker system for my PC, I got it configured correctly under windows, but in rFactor2 setting 5.1 speakers audio does leave rear speakers mute. If I leave it in stereo speakers or Windows default I get sound at rear speakers (I think windows or the own speakers simulate it) Any idea on this?
It's working in all speakers but rf2 sound system needs some work It should work out of your back speakers no problem Check your setup, test on something else too to see if its rf2 specific You've obviously changed the options in rf2 to 5.1? & setup / tested yr speakers in windows sounds settings etc
Tested first in windows settings (realtek), all speakers working fine. Then set in Rfactor2 at audio settings the 5.1 speaker configuration. Then went on track and got no sound from rear speakers.
I had a simliar problem where the rear speakers would "cut out" when I went on track, to fix it I changed the Number Of Sounds (in game) to 28, previously had it on 64. Try that and report back
Are your speakers plugged directly to the soundcard? Are you passing through a receiver with some sort of digital out?
I can get some sounds 'reflected' from walls in the rear speakers, most noticeable in the pits. When I go onto the track and get away from the walls they cut out quite abruptly at a certain distance. I can't hear anything else in them. have tried various 'Number of Sounds' with no change.
I will try that later to see if there's any difference (mine is in 32 now) They are plugged directly to the sound card; green, orange, black I drove yesterday evening in Sebring with the Marussia and it was just as you say, the rear only suddenly sounded when next to a wall or when going under a bridge.
ok instead of just being rude, I did a test as well. Clio and the new open wheeler on Croft, Imola and Limerock(should be more than enough tracks for the test). Ok, I turned off my fronts in a 5.1 audio selection. I used full number of sounds and the least number of sounds (64 & 8) ok. Well 5.1 sound is there. Rear sounds are there, and they do cut out abruptly here and there around the track. When you are near a wall, you hear all the sounds/ When you move away, they cut out, far too suddenly, it's like a switch. It is not working quite right. So instead of just being rude and say hey look, something else that doesn't work, I set out to try and narrow it down for me and others and perhaps Tim can relay? It is a step up from when 5.1 did not work at all. And can we get the spotter fixed PLEASE. Anything else? I think that is it.
what kind of comment is that? Yes it is implemented, and yes it does indeed work somewhat. To write "ignorant" things like Robert and Juan wrote is very silly. You do not even understand the words you write, do you? Wow
umm did you read the steps I took to show you they indeed work, just need work? I do not mean to sound rude, truly. Just read the steps I took to show they at least work (for me) If they don't work (for you) then the problem lies elsewhere, no?
AFAIK implemented and not fully balanced, this is what I read somewhere from Tim if I remember well. So it work like Max said, and need work like...Max said too How an useful post I made here, I'm proud
