Right hand drive corvettes freak me out. Plus I hate automatics for hill climbs but this is good to see what motion rigs SHOULD do to your body.

OK, at 2minutes 4 seconds you get to see the mirage effect and the Detomaso Pantera actually causing a wake in the reflection. THAT needs to be in rF2.

The sound of tires rubbing and wind.. You can actually make any car in rFactor simulate an electric car if you turn the engine sound down to 0% and the sound effects up. Try it for a while and you too will be an electric car fan.

Lucky the electric car set the record because the batteries only last 8 minutes lol. They may be quick but how do they race at Le mans? do 2 laps and wait 3 hrs to recharge or pull out the entire battery pack and have 20 of these on standby? I think fuel is much more efficient unless the cars do away with batteries altogether and get charger via a wireless grid around the circuit.

Imagine how much faster they'd be without the 100kg or so of batteries, you would need a local nuclear power station just to provide the power for a full field of these cars too so all this green talk is a little silly when you see where its power comes from and how much extra waste the batteries will create that need replacing quite often.

Pikes peak this year would have had a new record set by an electric car too except for the small issue of it catching fire on the actual race run after about a minute. You do know how bad it is to throw batteries into a fire, theses high intensity most likely lithium batteries would be pretty explosive if the car crashed and caught fire so safety wise I think Id still rather have a modern fuel cell then a bunch of exploding laptop batteries ;)

I think going electric is quicker but likely much more boring as there are no gears, give it full electric assists and we can bring back those trained monkeys from F1 a few years back.

I assume they use a system like kers to get some charge back under braking? If not they should but still its a cool video and we will be seeing these electric cars in lots of one lap sprints and hill climbs as 10 minutes is about the max range at proper pace still.

They do a 3 lap race at Isle of man on the bikes but they are much slower then the normal bikes and they need to back off to last the full distance, a bike only needs a few litres of fuel for that distance so the electric bike is much heavier needing lots of batteries for the same distance and they still cant go full pace or it wont make the distance.

These sound pretty mean too, but the RF2 sound engine is still a bit behind this it appears.

    Sick that is ...

Can't imagine a track which gives you a better sense of speed than this.

One of my favorite drivers at the time, now partially retired. Juan Maria "El Flaco" Traverso (Argentino).
This great pilot have won with EVERY car manufacturer over his career (743 races), over several events such as rally, turismo carretera, tc 2000, European Formula 2, Top Race.

1988 Won the race with a Renault Coupe on fire (literally).

1998 Won a race with 3 wheels (one came off on the last lap)

    And also:
1986 Second place two flat tyres on rear

1998 Extreme maneuvering from 4th place to first (over 70 metres)

LOL common mistake about electric car ^^
Do you wait petrol is extracted , refined and then injected in the car's tank when refuelling? no!
The same is for the electric car! you just swap batteries when one is out of power, it's easy as that and can be faster than refuelling a car if the right tools are made.

And that's something that will probably happen too for every days electric car, when you'll run out of power you go to the station give your battery to the station and use another one, like home gas bottle, the biggest difficulty is to force the brand to come at a standard (size etc.. for those batteries)

But yeah a wireless grid would be even better because you'll gain weight on the car and as it is said : Light is right.
