Hello, I really like rfactor 2 but is there any chance to increase the mirror Quality ? In rfactor you "just" had to replace the mirror.bmp file but I can not find such a solution for rfactor2 Any help is apprectiated ! Thanks a lot Sven
I've already asked this repeatedly. No answer, though it is inconceivable that it won't get addressed eventually.
I am not saying ISI to spend time on it. I was asking if there is a mod option as in other sims you can enhance it as well. And I wouldnt call it silly. The current quality of the mirrors is bad and doesnt match to the other quality.
Zoom them way back they not too bad. I guess if you use those virtual thingies they would look pretty off.
I did not mean the idea was silly. No argument from me mirrors are not good, just saying it would still come pretty low on my list of all improvements needed. For me personally visual improvements, rain, reflections, sunflare, hdr , backwards views, shadows, realroad, headless drivers to name some would be a higher priority is all. Still when you have a driver close behind you it is very clear, you can see the whites of his eyes Every sim archive I have eventually has a hi res mirror / mirror fixes folder.

It's the same as it was in rF1, the difference in rF2 is that you can't have a loose mirror.bmp file you have to repack the MAS and that's the problem.
It isn't silly and isn't cosmetic. Unless your the type of irresponsible racer who doesn't bother to look in the mirror because everyone else on the track should just get out of your way. It also won't take ISI much time or effort to fix it. About 1/1000th of the time to fix the things you want fixed, so perhaps we should tell them to not address any of your concerns because they will take too long to fix...?
Depends on which car you're wanting to change, e.g. for the Vette it's C6R.MAS, for the Megane it's M2009.MAS.

on the topic of mirrors..... can you change the colour of mirrors when off? sometimes theres dark black and can look a bit off putting. Maybe having them coloured like a real mirror, may be better in my opinion. obviously day and night would make a difference to colour.
