I believe, the default "post gamma" value (1.80) in the HDR profile causes the infamous "oil patches" and also strange black halo around the headlights at night.
Setting the post gamma to 2.30 seems to remove the oil patches.

How could I override the post gamma value in the HDR profile for all tracks at once?

You can't. The easiest way would be to edit the HDP for each track and do a Replace command.

Ok, I was afraid that is the case.

So, can ISI confirm that the post-gamma is the cause of weird oily lighting at night or is there actually some more deeper cause?

I hope they eventually add brightness, gamma, and contrast controls from inside the game like a lot of other games. Would help a great deal with the gamma issues.

At this time, night lighting is a code issue as noted in the 342 release thread.
