I have been attempting to host a game. The game name is displayed for all to see when my dedicated server is activated. I am running behind a d-link dgl-4300 router. I have assigned a static ip (PortForward.com). From the multiplayer.ini file I have the following ports forwarded in the router, and the firewall automatically opens all ports when the dedicated and Launchrfactor "exe" programs are activated.

    Forwarded Ports:

    44297 - 44497 TCP/UDP
    54297 - 54497 TCP/UDP
    443 TCP/UDP

Cable: 5.77 mb up 6.0 mb dn

In addition to the above I have totally disabled the security with similar results.
I can join, but no one else can. What have I missed?

    Thanks in advance.
    RR

Postscript: I have rFactor 1 set up in a similar manner and have experienced no problems.

You can try to connect directly to the modem (without the router) to see if the router is the problem or something else on the PC side. Also if you didn't already try to do a clean rf2 install (delete all left over files, reinstall only some mod from ISI).

Networking code in rf2 has change, but u can enable DMZ on your router instead of using port forwarding.

Thank you for the reply Abriel... I am presently testing as you suggested. I will continue to update the thread until I have a confirmed resolution.

Im running a server but opened the ports in a different way. I did it like this, and it works :)

    TCP 54297-54297
    UDP 54297-54297

    TCP 54347-54347
    UDP 54347-54347

For the 'Get mod' feature to work,

    TCP 64297-64297
    UDP 64297-64297

Make sure the Router is pointing to the machine running the Server

    Try it that way.

    Pluginz,

Hooray! Everything works. Ran a game online last night. My buddy was able to download the mod with no problems noted. This should be a sticky!:D

    Thank you very much.
