Hi, Have Google but not found any solution, can anyone give me some help? I bought rF2 with lifetime license about 2 years ago, and switch STEAM version recently, and want to try multiplayer yesterday, but ... I can't playing online!? I can join multiplayer server, but always marked as "server" and can't join race (only can look others racing). Anyone knows how to fix this?? I have check files with STEAM check, but no lucky. Rick
Ok, in your Multiplayer.JSON is this: "Spectator Mode":false, "Spectator Mode#":"Join games in spectator mode (rather than with a separate vehicle)", Or it might say :true for you. That should do it. There must be a way to deselect it in the GUI but I've got no idea where... I don't think I had that 'problem' since rF1, so I've never had to look...
Ok, 4th attempt and think I found it... When you go to join a server and it gets to the car selection, click Back. Then Network Settings. And change "Spectate" to "Off". Then you need to exit and join again. I remembered it being in the matchmaker in rF1, just couldn't work out how to bring it up in rF2 with the new launcher - which, apart from this little quirk, is much nicer. With thanks to xfactorracing for the Barbagallo server I used to test!
This looks like the session is in RACE session. You'll need to wait until the race is over and back to practice session. BTW: all cars are (AI) on that server. You can click on "voting" and "reset weekend" or "next track".
The solution was provided from Lazza; even in practice or qualify season still can't driving on track if not disable Spectate mode.
