Yes rF2 runs in 64bit by default, if you wish to force it to run in 32bit, you need to go to settigns in launcher and tick "Force 32bit" flag,

There is no such thing for mod to run or not in 32/64. Mods are just universal data. Its rfactor2.exe which is 64bit or 32bit.
URD has covered GT2 (GTE these days) cars in their EGT car-set... It is 5.40 euros now I believe and it is really well-made http://www.unitedracingdesign.net/. but if you're not up for paying a little bit for content, don't bother...
Apex GT3 mod is a must-have as well!
