A blinking red bar is an indication for harddisk access (maybe virtual vram too). The vram of the gfx card should contain all needed textures when you start a session, but sometimes they don't fit and the gfx engine loads them during the session, which creates stutter. Reduce texture detail or opponent detail and see what happens.
The green bar shows the gfx card memory (vram don't exist anymore) + virtual memory (system memory). At around 50% the memory of the gfx card is used up (my 2GB GTX670 reports 4GB memory in directx settings) and the gfx engine has to load textures from the virtual memory (not good, because the system memory is slow in relation to the gfx memory).
