I think for gaming (maybe excluding 3-display systems) this new Asus VG278HE is a very good alternative. I bought it and made some input lag measurements. Few links: REVIEW: Asus VG278HE Input lag measurements I'm not using 3D but 144 Hz at 2D and I'm extremely happy with it!

Sorry I didn't remember that anymore! Oh well at least the review wasn't mentioned before... You have this display and ATI card? If so does it work at 144 Hz with ATI too? I think owner manual said it's only supported by some 3D thing by nVidia. Think I'll have to do input lag measurements for 120 Hz mode too.
