Firstly I give Tim a lot of praise for showing interest on this topic. He knows what I am talking about. As others have mentioned there is a desire to see more Home Tracks in Sim. This concept is attractive idea since licensing of some of these tracks would be pretty painless at no cost or low cost. The future of Sim racing to include unknown tracks since we have the typical same tracks in every sim FTMP. So I say if Tim is interested post some of your Track ideas. Let these fine developers know what you think could be great in sim. I will start here http://www.desotosuperspeedway.com/#! Track Layout is my Avatar
http://www.nelsonledges.com/ http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/OH/images/nelson2.gif It's 2 miles. I like this idea a lot. I think it adds more diveristy. However much I love Sebring and Laguna Seca, I'll race them in every game. Also the more local tracks a lot of time have a better atmosphere. They're in a more natural place with less vivid painted walls, and less grandstands, etc. It's always nice to blast through a forest verses blast through a jungle of metal grey grandstands.
http://www.carolinamotorsportspark.com/ Great track, in Kershaw SC. VIR is closer but I've had some good times at CMP. Would love to see this done right by ISI.
ISI embraced this idea fully when they brought the excellent Palm Beach Raceway to the sim. At first I was like WTF... why? Then I drove it and realized that this is a unique and new track- not the same old-same old!
Well isn't that the darnest thing. I am just building Charlie Baker's record Kenworth, which is mentioned in TWS history: "The World Record for a Diesel Bob Tail Truck was set at TWS in April, 1981 by Charlie Baker at a speed of 132.6 mph." Cant wait for this track!
Cool idea. A friend and i were talking about this today, but more in the line of "if the Swedish Tracks were made for rf2, and made properly, the Swedish sim racing society would be won over instantly". My two favourites, not because they're brilliant, but because they're my local Tracks, and odd Ones as well.. Short and superfast club track, short city track.. http://cityarena.se http://www.falkenbergsmotorklubb.nu/banansida.php
