sorry if their is a sub form for this kind of thing (couldn't see one) had to share this program with you guys http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod..._Influence_People_The_Gordon_Murray_F1_Story/ if you are into f1 or car design you'll enjoy it
I recently watched this too, the story about the fan car is brilliant! (Needs rF2 mod ) I don't like his T-25 though, could turn into a Sinclair C5 moment.
Interesting video Its a bit over the place with the editing and personally id like it to be more technical but its worth the watch. Small cars are definitely the way forwards in terms of environment and general transport but we need to have a separate road system for these cars the government should add another lane on all the motorways that for cars that way under x amount. I'd love to have a car like this but I don't like the idea of driving along side massive lorries or even standard road cars and getting hit by them and I'm sure people with kids will be even more aware of this. Mind you it is targeted as a "city car" and in the UK you have far fewer large lorries in built up areas ( well meant to at least . Finally the most significant aspect of this car is not the car itself but the manufacturing process they want to use very good !
Can't watch that due to region limitations, what are these "small cars" you're talking about Jameswesty? Something like the Japanese Kei-cars?
The new car he has designed is accentually a new "smart car" but it is lighter , more economical to produce , can fit 3 people and has some nice design changes over even your traditional road or and other smart cars. I think in general if we had specific roads limited to very light cars you would reduce road accidents reduce road ware , reduce fuel costs ,reduce environmental damage. This is the specific car the documentary is about http://photos.autoexpress.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_757/car_photo_378700_7.jpg http://www.gordonmurraydesign.com/t... having a 60 car grid of these racing monaco.
