    Which max Version?
Which Version of the converter (the Version that is shown in max +Date of the Files)?

Does that happen also with a simple Plane with let's say 4 Polys with a gmotor Material as Submaterial of a multi/sub material?

The version of the GMT converter is v2.52u

Yeah i just tried that and that that worked although the textures didn't show in gmotor scene viewer or 3dsimed

Try putting 1 gmt and the textures for it in a folder and open that gmt in simed. You should be able to see the textures on the object.
