The MAS2 utility crashes every time I attempt to build a mod. As soon as I select the tool a pop up message advises that - GMotor MAS2 has stopped working. I have: reset my desktop link - result - GMotor MAS2 has stopped working (pop up) attempted to use the actual .exe file within the rFactor 2 folder - result - GMotor MAS2 has stopped working (pop up) attempted to use the MAS2 button in Steam - result - GMotor MAS2 has stopped working (pop up) I used the tool approximately two weeks ago to create several race game mods for online play and the tool functioned flawlessly. Has something changed in Steam or rFactor 2? What is the next step. Thanks
I was just reminded by Corvette Driver to correct the problem I need to go to: Users\name\appdata\roaming\ pkginfo.dat . The .dat file is corrupt! Delete pkginfo.dat file and the MAS tool will work again. Mas 2 tool works again I hope this may help someone who is struggling with this issue.
Third thread to solve the same issue. Mine was second . I am sure that you probably also looked up for a solution before opening a thread asking for help but probably missed it as I did. Searches to address problems should be better done within studio397 forums. Google shows results of old isiforums which are not correctly linked anymore. They send you to the main subforum page. It is funny that before it was the opposite: internal isiforum searches provided lots of irrelevant search results and using Google was the way. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?posts/865416/ https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?posts/866255/
Did you by any chance keep the corrupt .dat file? If you did please send it to us so we can have a look, thanks
Agreed, I can consistently create the crash by using it in my rfmod, haven't tried to narrow the list of vehicles down yet to see if there is a cutoff point or if it is a particular vehicle causing the problem.
No... but this is not the first time I have experienced this issue. I will provide it the next time it happens.
Thanks, I've been struggling with this issue yesterday for 2 hours ! It happened for me after trying to create a new rfmod afeter having uninstalled the one I made just before. I'll try to give you the dat files to help S397 to find the bug. EDIT : file added.
No, this happens after uninstalling the mod we packaged then trying to create a new rfmod. Then in MAS2 it crashes immediately after pushing the "create new mod package" button. I had the exact same problem on my computer (Windows 10 x64) and on one of our server (W2008R2 Web Edition)
Big Thanks to the OP for adding the solution in the second post ! This issue just happened to me, when trying to make a new package for the first time, after the DX11 beta update was installed. I fixed it by deleting the two .dat files. Would you like to have the non-working backup of my pkginfo.dat & pkginfo_bak.dat files ? Cheers! Max
