hey guys... didn't see this posted on the forum, so I'll start a thread. Whenever I try to load ANY track (with ANY car), I instantly get this error and the loading hangs indefinitely.

"error getting stats for texture SWHEEL_TRACKMAP.DDSError loading texture SWHEEL_TRACKMAP for material SECTORMAT"

I then get "Error loading global material SECTORMAT" and the game exits. I have un-installed and re-installed to no avail.

I do have a slower system (CPU is below "min req." - 1.8 ghz core 2 duo) but that shouldn't cause it to crash, just run super slow, correct?

    any ideas?

    Thanks!

Those maps ARE included with each track and its layouts, so I'm not sure why you're getting this. My first question would be "are the mods properly installed?" My second would be, "If so, is there any content in the 'installed' folder of your rF2 install?"

im getting the exact error as the Topic starter here... my pc specs are as follows...

    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) IIX2 Processor 2.91 GHz
    Ram: 3.00 GB
OS: 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
    Graphic Card: ATI X1950 Pro 512mb gddr3

i have read on the rf2 page of the website for min specs witch is

dual core 2.0GHz CPU would be better. 2GB RAM and either nVidia GeForce 8600 or ATI Radeon x1000 Series with 512MB video RAM will be required to take advantage of some features.

any help on this would be brill

I have the same problem "error gettings stats". I just have an ATI 1900XT. So I would like to know if this error appears, because my graphic card doesnt meet the minimum requirements or it is another problem.

Have any of you tried uninstalling (via control panel) and reinstalling?

    1. Go to control panel, uninstall rf2.
    2. Go to documents/rfactor2/packages and backup the rfmod files.
    3. Delete documents/rfactor2/
    4. Install rf2 with default options/locations where possible..
    5. Put rfmod files into documents/packages
    6. launch rf2.
    7. install mods via series selection.

My guess, by the way, is that you may have accidentally uninstalled a required component via the launcher.

Nope, this happens with all X1 series cards and is likely because of this:

There's an entire thread of X1 owners unable to run this game with the same error up yonder ^ and as the cars are well under spec it's unlikely a workaround will be provided unless ISI are feeling generous.

Those aren't the minimum requirements and haven't been for a good long time.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to start doing a weekly email to the devs with issues and solutions if they've been posted, so will be sure to include.
