I used to able to play the game but it failed and i gave up to find solution but now i want to make it work... No matter what car and track, VR mode or not VR mode, after the yellow bar loading the game will just jumped to windows the rFactor 2 launcher on desktop. Does anyone has any clue to fix this problem please?
How do i know if im running plugins? i have downloaded some contents from the steam workshop.... And my specs as below: i7-7600K 16GB ram MSI Gaming X 1080ti Windows 10 64bit Samsung Odyssey HMD (sometimes use it and it works flawlessly before) Thanks for your reply!
had the same problem, fixed by removing some inis, like config. ini, dx11 ini and player.json- dont know which one helped.
i tried to uninstall the rFactor 2 on steam but doesnt work, maybe it wont delete these file by uninstalling the game? maybe i should try delete all these files manually...
Right click rFactor 2 in your Steam library and select Properties. Select Local Files tab. Select Verify Integrity of Game Files.
In the launcher, go to the gear wheel, and in the single player section, type "+trace=3", without the quotes. Then run the game, let it crash, and then go to rFactor 2\UserData\Log and upload the file called trace.txt and link it here.

Had the same problem a few days ago, had to delete all rf2 data in the Steam folder on the hard drive and then reinstalled everything from scratch. It's not enough to just uninstall the game on Steam, now it runs perfectly again, but it took a lot of work to restore all settings.
