I am setting a separate computer up as a server. Attempts to serve and play from a single machine have resulted in pings greater than 100, which seems to be the accepted maximum ping before unacceptable lag occurs. My recent experience confirms the assumption.

Should the "server" machine also control the router or is that important... I can see where it will be necessary for me to set up a static ip on the server, but I was unsure about how the commands to the router should originate.

    Thanks in advance,

    Randy
