Just been doing some benchmarking with different AA levels with all gfx on minimum. After going through all levels I tried FXAA with no AA and couldn't see any difference in image quality but did notice that FXAA has the same performance hit as level 5/6 AA! Should FXAA be immediately noticeable with no AA and should it have that much of a hit? Also, would I be better off testing AA with track detail on full? Any advice on benchmarking would be appreciated. Thanks.
1680*1050 (http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-W2252TQ-lcd-monitor) Maybe it's my untrained eye not noticing the difference I don't know. What I do know is I would choose AA lvl 1 over FXAA any day.
Right, 22" with 1680x1050!! Yep, ive tried FXAA too at 1600x900 and dont really notice any change. But 1600x900 Level 2 AA is clean as a whistle What tracks are you testing on? Tracks can vary a lot with regards to the shimmering effect.
That's weird, I am using a 16:10 1680x1050 too (my screens native resolution) and I have no problems with FXAA, it works really nice - also with every other settings on max. Didn't try with lowering something, maybe that could cause it not to work properly?
