I've followed the instructions in the "Get Started Here (how to purchase, faq, etc)" and updated to the current build. I then downloaded croft, SRPL_EnduGT, SRPL_1960, SRPL_ClioCup mods and placed them into rFactor2\Data\Packages. Then I launch RF and goto manage mods and are unable to install anything. Right clicking the mods only gives me the option to view properties.

    I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

you need to install some stock mods first.... those SRPL mods are referencing stock content which can be found in the download thread.

Click Options tab and select Show Mods Only. Right click there.

On the manage mod click on "view" and unmark show mods only. Then you will see the complete list of components. when you have the components installed, mark again "show mods only" and install the rfmod.

They should really disable the Show Mods only by default and/or place a button on the button bar, not hide that option in some menu.

Which mods need to be installed first?

Show mods only is already ticked.

Yup this shows a list of installed components. I then re-mark show mods only and cant install.

It should not be ticked - remove the tick.

If unticked I see a list of installed components. Currently I have Croft and Clio_PC installed. But ingame there are no vehicles available to choose from. So I went ahead and downloaded some cars and placed them in rFactor2\Data\Packages. How do I install these cars?

@aidylad, you may not be aware but SRPL_EnduGT, SRPL_1960, SRPL_ClioCup files won't give you any new cars or content, they are simply vMod files that let you play different cars on different tracks, tracks and cars that you still need to install.

I agree, or a 'tab' at the top that you can switch between the 2 screens.

That is your packages list, it does not mean everything on the list is installed. There is the Installed column. If you have No in the column then that content is not installed. Right click on it and then choose install. Cars are in this list too and you install everything in the same way.

Ok thanks. Lets say I wanted to have some laps at Croft in the Skippy. What do I need to install?

The installed column says yes for all components.

If you want to do this properly, you should have recent version of game installed and ALL ISI content installed BEFORE you try any third party stuff. Otherwise you are inviting trouble.

Obviously you need Croft and Skippy (real name of the mod is Racing School). Also you will need to select the All tracks and all cars in the Series selection screen (or else you will only have Lime Rock Park with Skippy).

beta is messy, you really need to install all ISI content from the download sticky, or your just asking for more frustration.
    enjoy the testing ride.

ISI must do something to fix all this issues. It's a pain in the ass for the new users.
