Forum is being migrated

I figured I would need to post this in here, too.

The forum is being moved over the next day or so. The old host just isn't working out.

Hoping not to lose posts, if we do it'll only be an hour or two worth. But I am hoping to close the forum (and thereby not lose any) while they move it and refresh the DNS.

If the migration completely screwed up, I would recover the full backup I created this morning - worst case scenario.

you can also both forums let running using the same database. Then close old forum after DNS propagation (about 24hours, some times more). In that case you will loose no posts. Of course old forum will be slower a bit because of remote database connection.

cool. the old forum did slow down a lot. Did you guys experience more traffic in the forums than expected and have to upgrade?

 

No, the host changed ownership and is falling apart.

 

Well, I assume it's done now, as I see a huge performance improvement.
It looks and feels a LOT quicker now.

 

Yeah the mobile version seems faster now too, nice!
