Formula Challenge – Driver based, multiple splits

The Formula Challenge Series will be held on the Fridays in the same week of Formula Pro. Formula Challenge is the feeder series into Formula Pro, where drivers fight for a team spot in Formula Pro season 2. Drivers will qualify through the Competition System and will be sorted in splits for the season opener. Throughout the season drivers will be able to move up and down between the splits.

Required content:
Formula Series uses the Formula Series car and the tracks for the entire season.

Splits:
Challenge - as many as needed

Broadcast:
We will be broadcasting our races on our Twitch channel

Livery submission:
Split 1-2 are welcome to submit liveries the deadline is: 18th July.

Name:
We require every participants to use their real name in game, in our competition system and on our forum. We need to be able to recognize you. If you have a nickname and need to change it - contact our staff.

Season Schedule:
02-12 July: Spa PreQualifying*
23 July: Spa GP // Replays
06 August: Silverstone GT // Replays
20 August: Nurburgring GP // Replays
17 September: Zandvoort 2021
01 October: Monza // Replays
14 October: Indianapolis GP // Replays

Race day details:
Qualifying: 20 mins / max 6 laps
Race length: 45 minutes
Race day: Friday
In-game race time: 15:00

Challenge Schedule:
12:00 - Open practice (of CS until further notice)
19:45 - 20:00 - Registration
20:00 - 20:10 - Practice
20:10 - 20:30 - Qualifying
20:30 - 20:40 - Warmup
20:40 - Formation lap
20:45 - Race
Heavy rubber at start of practice, remember this builds for the sessions until restarted.

Quick notes:
  • 26 drivers per split
  • 6 laps, not private, parc ferme (as per rules)
  • Race: 45 minutes NO mandatory pitstop, but you are allowed.
  • Points: 35-30-28-27-26-25-24-23-22-21-20-19-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5
    Participation points: +25 per split (meaning split 1 will get 25 more than split 2, split 2 25 more than split 3 etc)

How to qualify:
Take part in the qualifying sessions between 2nd and 12th of July. Or show up on race day, however you will be assigned to the lowest split and then work your way up, if you did not qualify.
Before you launch the game, make sure you use OPT-OUT and not release candidate
In game:
  • Start up rFactor 2
  • Go to the race tab
  • Then scroll to the right and see more on Competitions
  • Click the Formula Challenge
  • Check out the schedule and then register for a session
After the season - overall standings
Bottom 2 teams in Formula Pro is dropped and position 1-2 in Formula Challenge is invited into Pro with their respective team/2nd driver - as Formula Pro is a team based championship - a team is mandetory.

Raceday!
Qualifying: Open, max 6 total laps - 20 mins, you may use escape and game controls session end (meaning it will not end at 0:00 but run until the drivers finished their lap (they started before session ended)).

Race: As per rules, formation lap (max 200 km/h) standing start, please be careful in the last sector when slowing down, remember your actions can be penalized.

The entire track will be an orange zone during the formation lap and lap 1.

Disclaimer
In the case that lag, a disconnection, or a major game bug affects your race, we cannot adjust the finishing positions post-race or restart the race. The race is held on our automatic CS

What will be the time of the race? Im scared that here in est Canada it will be too early for me ;(
As Bill says all of our races (posted times) are in CET/CEST as per rules. So yeah the races are -6 for you, so 14 (2pm)
Race time will likely be shit for me but I will try make it (2:30am Saturday)

That does not sound right - 2:30 saturday, that means you are more than 2 days behind, no idea what timezone that is :D

I see you also posted here and in a PM - lets keep it in the threads - and not both :)
As i mentioned i found an issue and it was fixed this morning, next session will start preparing in a few. i will follow progress and it will go live at 10:00 cest
 
What realroad and other servers settings are used for the Formula Challenge prequalifying sessions?
Specify which other server settings that is usually important to know that is not mentioned.
Heavy is the rubber, as any other session during the season.
