Due to fried power bricks several years ago, I have taken to placing my wheel on a separate power strip and only powering it up when I want to use rF2. SOMETIMES I forget. So here is my advice based upon my own screwups. Always make sure your wheel is active and functioning before pressing the play button at Steam. rF2 apparently searches very early in the boot process for the wheel and pedals. If you forget to throw a switch or don't have the peripherals plugged in, rF2 may miss them, even if you do get them plugged in or powered up before rF2 finishes booting. Just one more thing to pay attention to.
