What is the type of file is used for putting mods into the packages folder. Like whenever I download a mod that's not on steam, it downloads in a RAR file. However, I don't know how to get this to turn into a file compatible with rF2 Packages.

Normally, the rar, zip.... File contains the rfcmp File, that contains the Component that you want to install.
So you have to extract the rar, zip... File.
Don't you have a Programm like Win Rar or 7-Zip installed?
You normally should have one. ;)
If you have the rar File in the Packages Folder alreaday, rightclick on it and in the Context Menu select "extract here" then.
Sometimes, if you use 7-Zip for Example, you have to "expand" the 7-Zip Menu in the Context Menu, to see the "extract here" Option.
