We have a comprehensive licensing system using data pulled from league races to establish your ESR Platinum/Gold/Silver or Bronze license rating This rating is used to determine which classes/series you are eligible to race in. This will ensure a competitive field of cars in each class for everyone to race with from AM all the way to the overall race/class win! Practice races/testing for this series will be starting in May! ESR Headquarters, 5/13/2021 – The Sportscar Elite Series presented by ESR unofficially kicks off in a little over a weeks’ time with its first practice race at the iconic Silverstone circuit. Drivers in three classes will contest the 45-minute event on Thursday May 20th at 8PM EST. The entry list for all three classes has been steadily growing over the past month since the series was announced and has recently hit 16 full season drivers more than 50 days in advance of the start of the official season. The LMP2 class is off to a healthy start with many names recognizable to those who have followed ESR racing series over the years. Josiah Jerome is no stranger to victory in ESR competition with over 150 total races contested with ESR and over 40 podiums including 17 victories in his ESR career. He will pilot the #00 Oreca 07 LMP2 car in the Sportscar Elite Series. Wayne Hutchinson is another familiar name within the ESR ranks. Wayne has run over 150 events with ESR notching 82 top 10 finishes and 13 podium finishes. Tom Lebouf, Francisco Mazzoni, Josè Florez, Pedro Crulas Gomes, Norbert Roy and Jeff Wentworth all round out a very competitive LMP2 class that is only expected to grow in the coming weeks. The GTE Pro class is arguably the most competitive class on the grid with several names familiar to anyone who has competed in or followed ESR GT racing. Matt Higgs the current ESR 3Dspeed points leader was one of the first entries in a Porsche 991 RSR GTE along with his teammate Ayrton Tobin. Former 3Dspeed GT3 champion Paul Riccobene also recently filed an entry for the GTE Pro class and is sure to be a threat for the title. Other GTE Pro entries include William Mura, Jake Keckley, Martin Edmunds, and ESR newcomer Johnny Nikon. The GTE AM class is also off to a solid start with upcoming ESR driver Trevor Chaney filing the first entry in an OTL Racing Corvette C7R GTE. Chris Cox also recently entered the class with the first BMW M8 GTE entry on the grid. Additional entries are expected over the coming weeks before the season gets under way on July 1st at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway GP Circuit.
