    Hi all
Today I have received a message saying "error getting file list from mas file" while I was doing a rfmod. That happened at clicking at "package" once the rfmod was defined
Any idea where this error could come from?

I reinstall and have another new message: Unable to locate rFM mas file. This is the first message in creating a rfmod for the first time. The second try the system replies with "error getting file list from mas file"

    Try this:
go to the folder ..\Users\[your windows user name]\AppData\Roaming

make a backup of the files
pkginfo.dat (is used for rfmod information)
cmpinfo.dat (is used for rfcmp information)

then open the files, delete the whole content and save. Then try again.

    Could you please clarify?
You mean backup of files inside roaming or the two files you mentioned?
I think you meant the two files, it is just to be sure

Just the 2 files. Copy them to somewhere out of the "Roaming" folder or create a new folder inside of the "Roaming" folder and copy them there.
It's just to keep the original files.

    I tried your solution.
The first attempt to creating a rfmod showed an error: "unable to locate rfm mas".
The secon attempt with the same name of rfmod works perfectly.
Th pkginfo.dat file shows the data of the new rfmod, and nothing for the rest of the rfmods created in subfolder ~MASTEMP. I do not know if it is better to recover the older pkginfo and cmpinfo .dat files

Do i understand it right, with using the new/empty file it works?
If the original files still cause the error, i would suspect that they have too much content, but if using them also works properly now, you can use them, of course.
If not, keep the backupfiles, but copy them back into the ...\Roaming folder. Then delete all entries that you don't need anymore, by using the mod/component-builder UI, maybe it works without errors then.

The first error is with the new/empty files. The second time I attempt to do a vmod, then works perfectly. Not the first time.
Another thing I did was to select the MASTEMP folder, click in properties and unmark the read only box.
At least it allows me to do vmod in the second trial. I do not know why fails the first time i intend to do it.
Perhaps it would be better to delete all the content of MASTEMP folder also. Or to execute the mas2 program as administrator. I don't know

I almost forget. Also I have two installations of rF2 in the same pc (build 998). Both of them have the same error

I would recommend to ALWAYS run every program "as Administrator".
I personally, as absolute first action, set the windows UAC to the lowest level, whenever i install windows.
    That prevents from many problems.

The "unable to locate rfm mas" error may result from a bug of the MAS2 tool, that deletes the rfm mas file when the rfmod gets packaged. I guess that problem is still not solved yet (didn't tested it).

And that you get the problems with both of your installations comes, i would say, because the MAS2 Tools use the same *.dat files.

To delete all content of the ~MASTEMP is not necessary. But if you don't need it anymore.....
