Afternoon: Has any one else seen the issue that after downloading the lite package, Installing it into the current 156 install, and then trying to launch the dedicated.exe from within the core ( Not GUI ) it gets an error? The error is Core componet Location Common v1.0c is missing or invalid I Know I have seen this before and searching the forums brings back no re-turns. I look forward to any response. Thanks Dave
Hi Dave I'm not sure that you should install b198 into b156, lite build 198 is a standalone installer mate, thats if i've understood you correctly.hope this helps. + lite b198 is the same as a normal build minus dev mode.
Yes...I figured that part out. Still unable to get 2 servers to fire up. both were installed same way as other 6. Got me baffled. Same O/S same patches to the O/S have never had any issues patching or updating before. Now I am getting an error when trying to launch a dedicated to the effect: Core Component Ambient Sounds V1.0b missing, invalid or damaged. I seen this also in earlier builds and can't for the life of me remember how I resolved it. Figures huh.. Dave
Hey Dave Sorry to hear your still having problems mate, but with this one i cannot help...are you sure that you have completely uninstalled everything from the previous build, and not getting some sort of conflict somewhere? Other than that Dave i dunno.
Not sure on the Ambient Sounds error because that appears to be unchanged in the new build but Core component Location Common has changed to v1.0d in B198. Are you sure you're launching the B198 version of the dedi EXE and not the B156 version?
Thanks for the response MJP, Yes I revo uninstalled the rF2 156, deleted all but saved the packages folder. Downloaded and installed the 1. GB exe, Installed it to the default dir's. Copied the packages back in to propagate the install, then installed all with the mod manager inside the core. After a bit of messing around and setting the path in a shortcut to the dedicated.exe, It now launches the dedicated. You are able to select the mod...but now..no car files..LOL and if continued to the tracks page the tracks are listed. That is where we are at Thanks Dave
To me that looks like the mod manager installed the content to the wrong location, at least in part. I take it you started it directly from the rFactor2\Core directory? Try the shortcut thing with the mod manager as well. Cheers, Marcus P.S.: Have you checked the destination path in the mod manager?
Marcus: Thanks for the response. I have followed a few links from other posts, and have set the mod manager as you suggested from a shortcut. The mod manager has the dir settings as: Working Dir: C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\core Packages Dir: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\rFactor2\Packages Now it loads the dedicated, But when selecting the Mod, there are NO cars Yes Tracks and it continues to load. Dave
That´s your problem. You should not install to the \core folder. The directory you selected as "Data & Settings destination folder" is the correct location. You can check the "Data Path" value in the advanced tab of the launcher. That should refelct the selection you made during installation.
Ok Sir...Thanks again.. I will give that a go..What I for the life of me can't figure out...is why the others installed...no muss..no fuss.. all the servers are the same.... Dave
Diablo: Thank-you sir for sticking with me and the suggestions! All seems to be working now. Great community..That is all I can say!! Thanks again to the others that had suggestions. Dave
Hi Dave Glad you got it sorted mate...sorry i could not have been more helpfull. Some nice info there Diablo nice mate.
