[REL] EnduranceRacingX EGT by URD Update V2 July 2016!

I'm not impressed by the Merlin cockpit view, it feels like somebody is trying to blind me and putting some kind of burka over my eyes at the same time:



Is this view realistic or should some transparency be added to the top of the windscreen? I tried all sorts of FOV's and seat positions, but this car just feels claustrophobic to me

It actually is very closed down on real one to. I will look deep into that when i change the mesh out and adjust the position. From some pictures i have here allmost half of window is completly black and the transparent part wich is still there is even partly blended to. Im going to add with HD cockpit some diferent updates that should help.

Great mod so far, but please add more car views when pressing home. It's great for screenshots and the more the better

I'm sorry but i have to agree too: the drivin' feeling in the Merlin is fantastic, but i don't like to drive blended, and i hope that the real one is not claustrophobic as this.
If the offsets of the cockpit camera are correct, i hope there will be an option to make transparent or to remove the upper windscreen.... i'll never use a different view to drive in a simulator, the only acceptable view is the cockpit... other solutions are good for Nfs or Codies F1 titles similar, not for an ISI sim.
Please unblind a little the windscreen

 

Thanks Ales, I feared the view would be "realistic"... it's incredible how anyone can race a car in such a "visually cramped" position, great to see you paying so much attention to detail. If you wanted to recreate the claustrophobic atmosphere, you've succeeded 10 / 10!

That's only your opinion hopefully What if a user has a purpose built physical cockpit, would be kinda weird driving two cockpits don't you think ?

 

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how does one combine several psd files into a single skin? I was thinking of creating a Darche skin, but there only seem to be separate templates available. Thanks!

well, i fix my previous:

And i was referring to views from behind the car, or on the roof, not the pure outdoor and/or bonnet used by whom (and has all my respect) builds his physical cockpit

 

Several? There are few things that can be painted. Body, banner, wing well this 3 are most important. Did you download those from our site?

 

Got the Vette today finished, added wheels i did while back and looking amasing. Except the front small flaps the body is low downforce version with rear wing and longer diffusor at front, will add high downforce to.

 

The view from a real AM is a lot more clearer than at the moment (this vid of mine is wideview so not the best representation necessarily).

Yep I did, I found three psd's there, "Baner", "wing" and "body" for the Darche for instance. I think I'll just start with the body psd and take it from there.

Yeah but that's a GT4 car, totally different animal. As is the GT3 car. They're all distinctly different cars built to entirely different regs.

 

The cockpit shell is the same - that's the point.

 

Small picture but it shows how closed it is. There some small part that is transparent but that one is on ours to, here its just darker.
