If you need to edit some textures, like replacing track side billboards, then it is possible. You need to unpack, edit texture(s) or perhaps AIW file and repack the track again. Just remember that track is not compatible with original track anymore after any edit and repacking (if you meant that with phrase "compromise").
If you want to edit track geometry, then no.

For example, if you go to “expand” within the timings screen it says “speed” next to Laps, etc. I’m assuming this value is from the speed trap?you can edit the pitlane speed in the player files that the server is loaded off select the profile you wish to use and set the pitlane speed in there in metres per second
