Since the new build RF2 always creates a new "player directory" C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\UserData\player. instead of going to mine "scar". C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\UserData\scar
    how do I stop this?

Is the data path in the launcher supposed to read "C:/Program Files (x86)/rFactor2"?

    AFAIK it's always been \rFactor2\UserData\player
I have never even thought to rename the player folder and didn't even think it would work if I did.

    I understood.
What I'm saying is is that rF2 has never set the folder to be a 'nickname' it's always been just 'player'.
we don't create a username player profile anymore.

how did your scar folder get created in the 1st place?

hmm.. I may have changed it thinking that would correct the problem I have been out of town and don"t remember what I did last week.
I changed the data path in the launcher to C:/Users/scar/Documents/rFactor2 and that fixed my issue.
seems like everytime we get a new build something fks up and it is very frustrating because it is not like the old RFactor.
    thanks for your help.
