Where can the specs for the dampers high low cut over speeds be found. in rf1 they were in the hdv file. can not find the same in rf2
They're still the same. Your issue is probably that you can't find the hdv files, which are kept in MAS files now. For the MAS files that aren't encrypted you can open them using the MAS tool and check them out.
No, you have fast and slow damper adjustment, and the crossover has to happen at some damper velocity. This is set per mod, and can be adjusted separately in bump and rebound. It can be handy to know this when adjusting setups, but it's nothing to do with optimal rates. Erm... no.
Thanks for the tip Lazza. Found the spec. Something I have not seen before in SIM is where they are using a different cut over for bump and rebound. I took an average to get an input value for my motec histograph.
2 things real damper can do that I have not seen in rF2 is overheat (the fluid in the damper can get too hot and the damper performance screwed up) and 'jack down" where if you have too much rebound setting, the damper will compress just fine but in a series of bumps close together, it won't have time to extend again and will stay in a compressed state making the damper rock hard (it'll be on the bump stops) until your car is out of the bumpy part of the track.
Both those things would need to work in accordance with certain parameters; I find it easiest in rF/2 to check whether there are parameters governing certain behaviour - if not, it's probably not implemented.
