i have a 8 core AMD 8120 running at 4gig , ati 6970 video card , the highest usage my pross gets to is 13% , i see it using only 2 cores , is this sound right ? or am i loosing something somewhere ? i also have 8 gigs of sniper ram by Gskill 2133 an the game only uses 2 gigs that i can see , i run the game using my HDTV at 1920x1080p , i feel like i lost performance
The limiting factor is not necessarily your CPU or your memory. Very often the performance (FPS rate) is limited by the graphics card. I experienced that too less video ram could slow down a very fast video card as well. What OS are you using? If it is Win7 then you can disable core parking. Read up about it here : http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=1852473 and here: http://channel9.msdn.com/forums/Coffeehouse/453920-Windows-7-on-more-than-4-cores/ It works for me and I can see all cores active all the time.
win 7 , i think i have already disabled core parking , with the new build i now see 4 cores working , im thinking about buying the new amd video card , i did hook up another LCD TV next to my 40in , even tho the car was in the middle of both TVs i still had 200fps with HDR on , i want two more samsung 40in TVs so i can run 3 , ill see how my 6970 runs them before getting a new card , its been a yr the last time i played rf2 and now its way better !! love the sim , now we need dirt cars an tracks !! thanks again steve
