We're converting some stockcar mods and having issues with bumping ride... car vibrates side to side a bit and feels as though it's being held back quite a bit. Any ideas?

Track mesh it too low poly probably. Maybe it has built in bumps(I think Atlanta is known as a bumpy track)?

And the solution is to just increase poly count? refine the track to add more detail?

Yes. If it's still bumpy you might have to re-make it.

remake it? recreate all the geometry from scratch?

Maybe it's a car problem. Does it happen with the rtrainer?

Trainer seems to run fine on it...

So it's the car. Make sure nothing is clipping into the ground, you may have the wrong pivot point set on something.

seems to drive well on flat surfaces but digs in and lags out in corners.

How wide is one of those polygons? Also was the mesh density increased from something else? If yes, what method was used?

we've fixed the major bottoming out or whatever it was... now the cars still bounce a bit in the corner... so does the rtrainer. track issue?

rf uses metric units, I'd advise using the same. 2.9511625 x 4.981575 m is well outside the suggested spec (I was told to shoot for was 1.5x1.5m per quad). While it might work, when it goes wrong that would be the first thing I point my finger at. It might be helpful to turn on the wireframe on your next video, looks to me like you are ramping over the tops of the lateral polygon edges.

The program I'm using to show you the model is using imperial, the track is made and saved as metric.

I guess I could increase polys and save it.

How do I turn on wireframe?

Ctrl+w. As I said earlier, the tracks may have some bumps built into them. I converted the Daytona road course for our league, and the corners were really bumpy, even after adding some more detail. I ended up re-making all of the oval roads, which fixed the issue. That's probably not what you wanted to hear, but it might be the only way.

well my question is what does remake mean? just going through the conversion process again? or laying down new geometry? I don't understand what would be different about the geometry except more polys... Unless there is a setting or something that was missed in conversion? I can remake the tracks surface. I just don't know why... when it would be the same style of modeling? is there some form of modeling that is different in rfactor2? do the meshed neeed to be welded and smoothed in 3Dmax?
