Hmm, somethig isn't right cos I can't get about anything working with my MAS2... I make a component, install it with MAS, get a component directory in my install dir. So far so good. Try to make an update to my component in MAS, fill in the version field and update from field. Try to package but get the error message "Base component must be installed to make an update". Looking in my install dir the base component is sure there. From what I understand the MAS-program is always looking in a subdirectory called Installed starting from where the exe is located, or is there some magic going on here?
After the failure I press Done and exit the component creation, start all over again and enter Component Creation then it is possible to package the updated component. I guess that its some garbage left in the filepath to the updated file.
