My God! How did you make those cool TV effects? Sound is a bit ****ty though. ;)

Nice lap, nice driving. Even nice rig...

Thx tjc :)

BTW if of any interesst for 3d modelers. The car in the vid is done and drives very nicely which can be confirmed by various quick good drivers. Sounds odd but that is all I can say now lol.
I am "just" missing a dedicated 3d model for it (currently used model is not really legal). I could use a model of a known modding group but the model does not really fit I noticed.

So if there is an interessted soul out there please PM me.

Mrslfrsl...

My last post should have read "Even nicer rig... " not Even nice... :p

Damn typos... hate em... :)

Track looks nice. Really calm tone.
Car looks nice. Really rude tone ;)
I look forward to giving them both a run.

buuuut, are there any other trackside cam groups?
I've not seen a race broadcast there since F1 left Estoril so I don't remember it all that well, but I be surprised if they now use so many cameras positioned inside the safety fences.
If those aren't like the broadcast cameras, can there be broadcast-style cams as well?
This I do remember though...

DISCLAIMER: Yes, this is an Assetto Corsa laser scanned Nordschleife conversion for rF2. I wasn't exactly pleased with the AI in AC, along with the lack of rain and night driving. So I converted it for my own use. Please, do not ask for it, I simply cannot share it. If Kunos ever agrees to let me distribute it, I will of course share it right away. But I doubt it would ever happen.

AFAIK they are not final cams.

More of this guy's laser scanned Nords convert videos

I have put some time into the road mesh. The driving with the F2 and FR3.5 was really rough.

I tessellated the mesh to increase density, since it was really low, and mesh smoothed it, and the result is mind boggling.

I have also created an alpha channel to replace the spec map that was in the road diffuse texture and wet condition are now partially working as you can see.

Well mostly working I must say. I have created a global reflection plane, so I will need to make some local ones for a few locations, but already it's shaping up nicely.

The drying and wetting effect looks much better than I anticipated from this road mesh.

The real road is also better with the new road mesh. A lot more verts to blend the groove in.

Fixed a lot of flickers, and almost no more flickering at night either.

Heh heh, a converted laser scanned Nords for rF2 would certainly save me about 33 GB of HD space, that's for sure.

I would have next to no reason to keep AC installed, seeing how Nords is the only current reason I'm keeping AC.

I just never use it anymore, that's the problem.
It just fills up space.

When I see a real life video of Nords I get an urge to drive the laser scanned version in AC, but a lap or two just feels like a bucket of cold water in the face.

Personally, I would give my right arm to feel the physics and force feedback of rF2 on a laser scanned Nords. No wait, then I can't shift gears anymore... ;)

Is safe to say, there is no one here who would not want to see AC Nord in rF2, but that is not even up to Kunos. Of course there are still probably theoretical possibilities(and this will be something wonderful if it happened), but for that you need perfect collaboration and relationship between two companies (in this case between three).

Yeah, sounds like utopia to me, sadly...
But it seems that the Nords laser scanned data is becoming more and more widespread in the industry, so who knows what will happen in the future.

I just don't think the industry is geared for such "open mindedness" atm.
There's too much at stake. I seriously doubt Kunos would want its users to experience the physics and ffb of rF2 on their track... ;)

I've seen tons of sim racers who, like me, would leave AC for good instantly if laser scanned Nords became available for rF2.
Personally I would pay for the opportunity to have it available (yes, I know ISI won't do pay DLC).
