This morning I had been doing some hot laps in another racing sim - although it's more "arcadey" than rFactor 2 - in terms of being easier to pick up and more forgiving (in my opinion) with it's handling and tyre modelling etc - Project Cars 2, on a public server at the Nurburgring. Blasting around in a Group C car, exceeding 300 kph and getting a reasonable sense of speed (for a simulated game - obviously it doesn't compare to real life). Then I decided (as it was really early in the morning in my time zone) to see if there were any interesting rFactor 2 servers available - and I found a really good one to jump on, using a mix of ASR Formula 1 cars (some of my personal favorites in rF2) and holy f$%k it was a complete shock to my brain. I have my FOV setup correctly in both titles, so it's not a simple case of my perspective or view point being different. The sense of speed and acceleration in rF2 is bonkers with F1 cars. Here's a good example of one of the my favorite car mod's - the 1986 F1 mod from Chief Wiggum and whoever else helped out.
ASR F1 race - just trying to get the flow of Manfield in an F1 car and my current pace in rF2 is pretty average, so AI speed is at 80% - which is a bit too low - but I'm just trying to learn the track. Great track though, as it suits a wide range of cars. Pukekohe should be really good too (when it's released), as that's another local favorite of mine.
Why on earth does the car paint get washed out during replays? (Seems to be triggered when loading a saved reply?) Monaco GP - Audi R8 LMS GT3 2019 No issues here [4k] Mclaren 720s GT3 - Cote d'azur
