Why not copy the use of F-16 fighter canopies like the Unlimited Hydroplane boats do....With that halo, they are sarcophagus'd into the car anyway. A solid bullet proof canopy like that of the F16 would allow much better visibility and even more protection than the Halo offers.

They did tests and discarded. I think that the reason was the difficulty to access to the pilot by the asistances, in case of accident.
