Community Screenshots Thread (Unedited Screens Only)

Yea.. it's unfortunate that Hex has unwittingly shown the two faces of rF2 :o ..the dockyard track with the Macca looks great, but the vintage car/track is cartoony looking with over-bright colours. (I keep nudging the devs to overhaul these nice cars like they've done with the Formula Renault & the Clio)

One of the reasons is the track's own lighting.

All VLM's tracks look beautiful & they also light the cars themselves in a very good way. The colours of the cars running in them aren't ever over saturated, but if you then put the same cars in the vintage track that Hex has shown, they will look over saturated & poor..

Edit: pic removed

Woochoo's Longford is also fine example of good lighting, and feels3's Croft & Poznan

I think you meant anyone ever claimed rF2 is graphically inferior is inferior.

hehehe ;)

Great PiCS

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see the beauty in both the earlier and the newer content. :)

I'm done discussing 'taste', especially in regards to the visual aspects of this sim. Nothing good comes of it. Some people only look for 'mistakes', something to pick on, often without ever having created anything significant themselves. This in turn makes their arguments completely irrelevant to me. To each his own.

Life is indeed way too short to worry yourself with what others' subjective opinions are, when it comes to art. :)

What grabs he is how people have been saying it is the last few builds it is has improved.

Cods Wallop. lol

Ask tj what I told him build .dot when I was egging him to come across from pCARS.

For me AC and pCARS look very nice aesthetically, you know the models you buy already made in boxes ? , like those.

But rF2 modelling is more like Tamiya to me.

lol that probably makes no sense.

Yeah it does. I feel ya. :)

I think you mistook decent self-shadowing for bad smoothing :) Not that this bench is the peak of photorealism, but there's nothing wrong with it.

I meant the bench GMT was not created as "facet" smooth method. When you go putting a lot of mistakes together, the final result is worse than the sum of mistakes.

Thanks for who understand my point, if all rF2 material would look as Hexagramme's McLaren pictures I think everyone would be satisfied, at different levels. At least the pictures prove that a good quality is possible.

In addition, old F1 cars are ugly but beautiful to drive at the same time.

Looking forward to the 919 skin. Do you also have this strange behavior of the alpha channel with the 919 template?

Not sure if it's strange but alpha channel controls reflections as in chromed effect.

These screens use a skin with alpha channel set to about 15%, where 100% is white which gives full chrome effect.

I never liked these shiny, chrome cars. It just doesn't feel manly enough for me ;) I guess men prefer beasts and beasts are usually not shiny :P

Women, on the other hand...

"Women, they're suckers for anything shiny."
