For a simracing competition we are hosting a dedicated server (hosted in a datacenter). For some reason during a race session we have all cars disappearing for only 5 seconds. This only happens during a race session, in practice, qualifying and warmup we never have any troubles. In the races we have about 25 drivers on the server. For a strange reason most of the time this only happens once and only in the second race from that evening. After the 5 seconds all cars are back on track but sometimes cars collide because of the lag or people get confused and crash off. This obviously is annoying a lot of people. What we already tried to solve the issue: - Upgrade the rfactor server to the latest version - Start rFactordedicated.exe with high priority - Shutdown other instances of rFactordedicated - Disable / shutdown unnecessary applications during races - Monitor server hardware usage during the races (only RAM gets about 90%, but never higher then this) - Restarting the rFactordedicated.exe between both races (everyone have to reconnect but doesnt resolve the problem in every race) Server specs: OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard X64 CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2680 v2 2.8Ghz (1 socket, 4 virtual processors) RAM: 4GB HDD: 400 GB hdd (ssd) Connection: 1000mbit down / 1000mbit up Any suggestions what could cause the problems or what i can do to resolve it? Help would be very much appreciated! If you have any questions, please ask me.
