Can't join my buddies hosted online session

Hello all. My buddy is setting up a server and i can't join. I see and click on his server and there is a greyed out section that says join. Is this something that i am doing wrong or something on his end? We both have the urd egt cars. I don't have the track, but shouldn't i be able to download it within game by using the mod button? Thanks in advance.

 

common issue mate, refresh browser list. or restart rf2. and try and try.

 

Thanks for the quick reply. I restarted several times and clicked about for 10 minutes. So just keep doing that? Thanks

 

its a mystery tbh, or at least to me. your mate can try to restart the server and you could also check if the vmod did install (mod manager) and then delete it and try to join again.

Is anyone else able to join?

 

Thats the thing. The mod isn't installed yet. I thought it would highlight "MOD" then i would be able to join. It says join greyed out now. I tried several times just now. If there was ever a reason anyone would stay away from rf2 it's because it's just to difficult to race mp!

try this:

have only the Cars and Tracks installed you need on the Server, uninstall all older MODs you download from other Online Servers.

 

Click another server then click back to the one you want. Then click another server, then back to the one you want. Each time hoping to random other servers but back to your friends till you get join.

If it doesn't happen, check everything else like server versions blah blah.

 

Any of you guys have the urd egt cars that can try to get on his server real quick? server name urd cup. No pw needed. Thanks

Got your pm Nhra but I don't have the mod so can't test it.

rf2 seems to get stuck in loops at points, that's why Datanode suggested to join another server, things like that could get you out of a loop and refresh whatever that needs to be refreshed. its the same with passwords and connection fails it seems.

Cant your friend send you the vmod via email or something so you can install it manually?

If there are no other joiners then its more likely to be a server issue although that too is guessing.

What track? Did he share his rfmod with you? Did he setup his server to share it?

 

Hello Tim. It was snetterton (spelling) with the urd egt cars. I tried several times with all that has been said. He did not share rfmod as he thought i could do it in the server area? He said he did set it up to share. I was able to get into the isi indy oval server. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
