So, it appears I have a similar problem to what someone else was having here in terms of hosting more than one dedicated server. I tried all of the suggestions such as separate CORE folders, port forwarding, obviously using different ports for each server, yet nothing works.

Sometimes both servers start-up, but you can only ever join one. Normally the 2nd server simply refuses to start saying "make sure ports selected in multiplayer.ini" are configured, which they are.

    For example:

Server 1 - Clios Default Tracks
    WAN Query Port="30000" // range is 1025 - 65535
    WAN Join Port="31000" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Query Port="30000" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Join Port="31000" // range is 1025 - 65535
HTTP Server Port="52000" // range is 1025 - 65535. Used for file sharing

Server 2 - GT All Tracks
    WAN Query Port="32000" // range is 1025 - 65535
    WAN Join Port="33000" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Query Port="32000" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Join Port="33000" // range is 1025 - 65535
HTTP Server Port="52001" // range is 1025 - 65535. Used for file sharing (I don't believe this needs to be different, but I changed it just to say I tried)

In my router I had forwarded ports 30000-52001 in one line setting, forwarding both TCP/UDP. I kept getting the port conflict message when starting the 2nd server, so I created two forwarding rules, one for each server, but still get the same error.

I am using and selecting different players for each server instance.

When I host only one server, I can join it just fine.

Trying to start the 2nd I get the port in use error message and it won't start (about 99% of the time). When it does start, both servers sometimes appear on the matchmaker list, but more often, just one does. When both show and I try to join one hosting the GT mod, it still brings me to the car selection for the Clios.

I used to host multiple rFactor1 servers just fine, but rFactor2 refused to run more than one server at a time for some reason.

Im actually going to look into this. I will try and run two servers myself right now!!

Looking at what your saying about the ports. Those are for connections to a server, not from a server, so changing those will not make any difference. Its the multiplayer (server) details in the ini which there doesnt seem to be any options for multiple servers on one machine. But this must be possible some how?

Also looks like you would need 2 installs and 2 seperate packages folders as far as i can see. I will have a little look at it now see what i can find. :)

Actually the WAN Join Port is what you need to change. It has to be different for each server. You should not need two installs to run multiple servers.

No, it should be easy, but it doesn't work. rFactor1 is no problem hosting multiple.

No, you change the ports above like I posted, same as rF1. Just for some reason it's not working for me to host more than one at the moment in rF2.

I tried it just now. I have created two different users and changed ports.

First, I started 2nd dedicated server from the same Core folder as the 1st server. Both servers were listed in the server list but I could not join the 2nd server (timeout).
Then I made a copy of the Core folder and started the 2nd server from there and now it works - I can join both servers.

That sounds strange - if you can try to connect directly to the modem, without the router (just for test to see if that is the problem).

Thanks Abriel. I'll try again tonight. I just installed rFactor fresh from the 118 download.

THIS IS A OLD POST FROM ME .. in this forum ..I had same problem before hosting 4 servers on 1 machine i copy the userdata player file 3 times rename player name
so i have 4 userdata folders then i edit ports in the multiplayer ini files on the 3 copy of userdata

    Server 1
    WAN Query Port="44297" // range is 1025 - 65535
    WAN Join Port="54297" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Query Port="44297" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Join Port="54297" // range is 1025 - 65535
    Server 2
    WAN Query Port="44298" // range is 1025 - 65535
    WAN Join Port="54298" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Query Port="44298" // range is 1025 - 65535
    LAN Join Port="54298" // range is 1025 - 65535

And so on now all 4 servers is visible in lobbylist and online that fix my promlem that matcmaker lost connection to my servers

Looks like a re-install and separate Core directories did it for me. Thanks guys...
