Hi! I just installed RF2 and like it very much!! Very intrested in its future! Well as titel says/asks... I installed RF2 and now im on a kinda track download spree. And my package folder is getting bigger and bigger of course. Now i want to move those .rfcmp files to an external HD. Is this possible? Or does RF2 still refering to them? Thanx in Advance. Sven.
Once the .rfcmp are installed, you can move/remove your rfcmp files as you want. The data are deployed in the Installed folder of the game when a .rfcmp is installed.
Also to add to MaD_King, I think if you want to reference your external rfcmp files, you can change the path for the packages folder to the external folder.
Thank you Mad king and darealmataD! Didnt know i could change path, i thought it was a given thing! Fantastic! Why i wanted it... because when you got a fresh install of windows, you wont have to download the whole bunch again! Again thank you!
I always download mods to a specified folder elsewhere on a different drive, then copy them to packages, install and immediately delete them from the packages folder. If it's a getmodded file, it still gets saved into the packages folder, so I just copy that to the location where I download all the manual mods. So, to answer your question, as the above guys said, you can clear out the packages folder once the mods are installed.
