Ok - this build is missing the settings change directory. I run multiple installs - with this build, it always defaults to the original install. So for example I copy the lite instal to one of our server folder, add the track, mod and the Player folder. I add the shortcut to the desktop pointing to this install. I run the shortcut which is pointing to the new install. Yet the shortcut launches the dedicated server from the original install, not the one specified in the shortcut. Any ideas?
Rather than running multiple copies. Just use separate player profiles for each server. You can also use this tool I made which makes it easy to create profiles and all that: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/24029-rF2-Server-Manager
Hi Noel, well aware of that. However our live timing plugin requires a separate install. Sent from my Nexus 6
So ask the developer to use SetEnvironment to grab the path to the player profile folder and then look for the settings there. Then you will not need multiple installs.
The issue is not to read separate player files but having 1 plugins folder and thus I plugin dll streaming for all installs. I'll have to update the plugin dll to handle all instances at once. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
I've never had problems with multiple instances of a plugin from the same folder as long as I store the settings in the profile folder.
Yeah, I need to move the settings file in the profie folder and send specific data. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
So to make it clear (as I cannot test this yet)...are we saying that from the latest build one cannot install/have separate rF2 servers?
Yes, that is correct from what I have seen. There is no option to change the data path any longer and all shortcuts to the dedicatedserver.exe are reverting to the one original install Sent from my Nexus 6
You can still change the datapath. Open <Core>\Core\data.path with notepad and paste the path you want to use. The issue, as I understand it is when using a single install with multiple player profiles the plugin uses the same config file for each profile. I would think this would be a simple fix.
